Our Story

Established in 1993, Wunanbiri Preschool has been a cornerstone of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander early childhood education in Alexandria, NSW for over 30 years.

Wunanbiri means "our place" in the language of the local Aboriginal people. Our preschool was founded on the principle that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children deserve early education that celebrates and honors their culture while providing high-quality learning experiences.

We operate as a licensed formal preschool program, regulated by NSW Department of Education, ensuring we meet all educational standards while maintaining our unique focus on Indigenous culture and community.

Our medium-sized charity serves not only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families but also welcomes children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, financially disadvantaged families, and other vulnerable populations.
